Standing Firm

You stood firm before the Wolf,
Although you knew what would happen.
You stood firm knowing that you had failed,
And that you would not fail again
Here, at the last outpost of honor.
You stood firm even when your deeds
Had not created the situation,
And those who had done so
Stood back and let you sacrifice,
Stood back and let you do
What was necessary.
Because you know that it is
Never that simple.
Hail to Tyr,
Lord of Limits,
One-handed warrior
Who knows the real truth about all wars.
