Fenrir, the Devouring Wolf

I see, in the growing thighs and the
Abyssal jaws of the wolf, whose span
Threatens the comfort of heaven,
Far more than the devouring of Wotan.
In the growing thighs and the
Ever-spanning jaws of the wolf,
As he paces the banks of Ván under
The check of Gleipner, I see the wolf
Devouring all of Midgard.
By the inexplicable methods of mythology,
The wolf sits on the earth to eat the earth
So that a planet may join the right-hand of Týr.
But the hand of Vidar shall never touch the wolf.
The wolf is no trifling symbol; it is the all-eater…
The wolf is the symbol of nothing.
