I want to share this story with all the comrades.
This morning, Solstice Day,I went in for eye surgery for an issue that the surgeon called "difficult", "with higher than normal risks" when I went in for consultation with me. When he first saw me, he asked me about the Tiwaz I wear, what was it? I told him it's a rune, and it represents "the aspiration to live a life of courage, honor and right action".
"That's cool," he said. I liked his self-confidence - and, of course, him asking me about the Tyr Rune got him even more respect (I live in the Deep South of the USA, the so-called "Bible Belt"). While he was working this morning he explained to the support staff why this was an unusual case. I kept my mental eye on the Tiwaz rune in my mind, and my heart on Lyfjaberg. When he got through, he said to me,
"That was a battle."
I replied,
"I knew it would be, and I also knew that you would be victorious."
He said,
"Your Viking runes gave me strength."
Isn't that totally awesome, all the way around!!

To see that what must be done
was done in truth.
Hail God of the sunset, last single ray of light,
Lord of loyal morality, whose name none takes in vain.
I want to understand the difference between self-sacrifice that is good and beneficial And unhealthy marterdom. How do you sacrifice a part of yourself without resentment? Did you ever resent giving up your hand? I will confess sometimes I resent when my sacrifice seems to of no account to the people I am sacrificing for.
Tyr, please help me with your wisdom!
For this, I will learn to sharpen and protect my knives and weeapons.
