Dear Lord of Honor,
please sanction my efforts to take self control over my own mouth. In two ways. First, to have dignity and restraint and wisdom in what I eat and how much and when. I will then share with you and your hall and your allies only the most life-sustaining of food and drink. Second, and maybe most important of all for me, I very much desire to attain the power of silence. I intend to learn when to speak and when not to, according to your strategic objectives. In return, I will aim for all that I DO say to be as forthright and direct as your own words. May you be honored among men, Great Tiwaz, as you are in the other realms.

Today I offer a word of praise for the spirit of Raud the Strong, sorcerer, warrior, navigator par excellence, and friend of the Saami. He was tortured to death by King Olaf Triggvason for refusing to renounce his gods and take the oath of baptism. Hail Raud, he who sailed against the wind. All honor to his courage and loyalty.

Hail Tyr! You are mysterious. We don't know your real name - we call you tyr, or tiw meaning "a god". It isn't a name. Well call you Saxnot, lord of the Saxons. It's a title. We call you Tiwaz, meaning Shining One, but it's the same thing - cognate to their own languages - that the Greeks and Romans called their High God, and you are certainly not at all like Zeus or Jupiter. We know few stories about you. We only really know you as you reveal yourself privately to each of us. What an honor! Hail, Mysterious One. Tyr, you are truly one of a kind!
