You call me to the sea, but the course is difficult, rough, and I am afraid I'll lose my way. Shine your light so that I may be guided towards my goals, swiftly, effortlessly. Steer me from rocks that I could wreck myself upon.
Oh Father, you know my desire to join the navy is strong but I feel inadequate to the task; help me to navigate through my fears, doubts, and useless bad habits. Teach me how to strengthen the qualities it takes to be an officer, respected by superiors and subordinates alike, and to develop those I do not yet have.
For this, I will donate to a marine conservation society. Hail
